OF THE DIPLOMA THESIS Author: Barbora Nováková Thesis supervizor: Mgr. Kateřina Vondrová Title: The Influence of Vocation on Dexterity in Healthy Adults Abstract: Restoring the ability to work is crucial for adult rehabilitation. Vocational rehabilitation supports individuals in obtaining and maintaining employment. Many job tasks require the use of upper extremities. As part of prevocational assessment, occupational therapists evaluate upper extremity functions using the standardized Purdue Pegboard Test (PPT). This thesis aimed to explore the causal relationship between the characteristics of adult employment and their performance in the PPT. It focused on three main areas: the influence of occupation, weekly working hours, and current employment duration on the PPT. A total of 266 subjects completed a questionnaire and were tested using the Czech extended version of the PPT manual. The tested population consisted of 70 % women and 30 % men, aged 20 to 64, with 250 employed subjects. The data were analysed using box plots. The influence of occupation on the PPT performance was examined by categorizing subjects into professional fields based on the National Classification of Occupations based on the questionnaire. No statistically significant difference in PPT results was found between the...

Pastoral care, or persuasion? The influence of church leaders and their control of clergy and believers. Research of religiosity, communication strategies of priests and their image in letters in the late 19th and early 20th century. Tomáš W. Pavlíček SUMMARY The author of the Ph.D. thesis examines the religious culture in Bohemia in the late 19th century. Contrary to the concept of secularization and the prevalent opinion about an extraordinary decline of religiosity in the Czech society, he attempts to explain the interdependence of social and religious changes in the modern times. Within the sociological concept of secularization and disenchantment of the world, the author focuses on three phenomena: the vocation of a priest, religious practices and conversion, which he treats as religious concepts and at the same time applies them in historical research. The biggest part of the thesis is devoted to the first object of the research - the attitude of a priest towards his vocation, as the clergy is the agent of religious change. The thesis contributes to the current discussions about the relationship of the church and the state and the role of clergy in the society. The main questions are: What is the role of a priest in the religious changes? In what way or under what circumstances does a person get the...
Jesus' Sayings on Discipleship in the Gospel of Matthew
Zeman, Jiří ; Brož, Jaroslav (advisor) ; Větrovec, Pavel (referee)
The thesis deals with the Jesus' logia about vocation contained in Matthew 8, taking into account the synoptic parallel of the text in Luke. The original Greek text is, first, translated into Czech and then linguistically analyzed. The thesis further examines the original setting of the logia and their foundation in the hypothetical Q source. With the help of selected commentators (France, Hagner, Osborne, Fausti) are the logia and their meaning interpreted within the wider context of contemporary research. These modern interpretations are supplemented by views of the early Church Fathers. The method used in the present thesis is the analysis of the original text and a comparison of relevant commentaries.

Teachers' professional motivation
BLAHUTOVÁ, Marcela
This thesis aims to study factors that prods teachers to leave their profession or on the contrary to continue in their work. The theoretical part deals with the teachers? motivation for work, the issue of professional development and the professional identity of pedagogues. To understand the factors that influence the motivation of teachers I used two methods: a structured interview and a questionnaire. The practical part of the thesis then includes the evaluation of data obtained through the above-mentioned survey. The study was conducted in the Pilsen Region. Total of 28 teachers currently working in this profession filled out the questionnaires and were then also interviewed. 28 former teachers agreed to participate in the interviews and 26 persons also completed the questionnaire. Based on the information I gathered I can conclude that teachers are motivated for the most part by the creative work with children which allows them to fulfill their own freedom and creativity. Ample free time appears to be another important factor that encourages teachers to continue in their line of work. On the other hand, teachers most frequently leave their profession due to the low salary and considerable psychological strain.

The theoretical part process knowledges especially of Catholic theology, plus the view of psychology and personal experiences in helping workers and volunteers from hospice care. The practical part deals with the analysis of qualitative research in a sample population of the Czech Republic. The comparative part compares results of the theoretical part with the practical part, analyzes the similarities and differences and examines what it means for pastoral work. After the evaluation is outlined, how could the pastoral work capacitate seriously ill and dying in the acceptance of their mission in suffering. The result of this work is the finding that the majority of a sample of Czech respondents (56 %) of the total 128 respondents - mission of seriously ill and dying sees, 10 % do not knows, 14 % never thought about it and 20 % sees any mission. The most important task, according to Catholic theology is {\clq}qreconciliation with himself, with others and with God.`` Practical research showed that the greatest sense of the suffering of seriously ill and dying brings benefit for surrounding people, specifically in the {\clq}qawareness of the price of life and health, their mortality, rearrange values`` Most preferred {\clq}qspiritual sense of suffering``, according to the public lies in the {\clq}qsacrifice of suffering on the intention``. Results of comparison mean for the pastoral work the challenge to help find seriously ill and dying people the mission in their suffering, specifically in their participation on the saving suffering of Christ. Another important task of the pastoral workers is to help society acquire a dignified view of man in suffering and have genuine compassion with him, expressed also by deeds of charity.

MÁDROVÁ, Lenka
In this paper the biblical passage dealing with the vocation of Moses is analysed. At first, the beginning and end of the passage is determined, the function of the passage within the context of Exodus narration is examined and several Czech translations of the text are compared. The examination is based on the Czech Study Translation. The second and third part of the paper is devoted to text analysis. At first the text is analysed on the linguistic-syntactic level, i.e. the grammar, stylistics and structure are examined. Next it deals with semantic analysis, i.e. with the meaning of the text, certain words are explained and semantic fields analysed. The last part attempts to find incentives for the life of contemporary youth in the passage. The way of communication of man and God in the case of biblical characters and of contemporary people is compared. 21st century youth is characterised as well as barriers which prevent it from hearing the voice of God. The issue of vocation recognition is discussed.
